Paradise Dead

~ Paradise Dead ~

In her eyes horizon sea
At her throat the silence key
Sliding steel salvation gleaming
In the nightmare she was dreaming
In the dream her heart was flying
In the nightmare, falling, dying
She was fighting
She was praying
Blood was flowing, boiling, staining
In her soul the paradox of love within the hate
The demon's core where light was born but quickly torn away
And now her vision fades
The blade into the sand is sinking, driven by the waves
The pounding, sounding waves
“The promised one will never come!”
Her hymns of precious faith, fell disgraced
Begging for the angels to release her to the waves

“And darken this heart for my own way of peace
My spirit set free in the ocean's release
These mystical shores without end or beginning
This beautiful home of the…”

Sharks and dolphins, rotting, bloating
On the poisoned waters floating
Thousand years and still she's waiting
On the edge of endless sea
Wedding bed of cold wet crimson
Throne of sand for heaven's queen
Ever bleeding
Ever waiting
Dying scream reverberating
In her skull the paradox of life within the curse
The demon's eye where "earth & sky" is written in reverse
Where paradise awaits
Her sorrow is the code that opens wide the diamond gates
The bloodstained island gates
The lonely one is soon to come to wake her where she waits
Still she waits
Chained between two angels who protect her from the waves

So many vibrant images begging for more elaboration. Seem to me a cautionary tale of legend that has fallen from the memory of Men. Welcome to DP and cheers! - Dan
