solitude at the beach
By bluegypsea
there’s a quiet squeamishness
hanging heavy in the air,
a crimson ray of blistering sunlight
pierces the silent wind;
pictures worth a thousand words
begin to lurch freely about,
like a tornado with an angelic facade
and a devilish enterprise;
chilly oceans whirling ferociously,
a sharp prick of agony
as freezing water stabs
your clammy, delicate skin;
an onslaught of jealousy
turns to a sickening green hue,
and gentle tides of sea mist
begin to smooth the jagged rocks;
as you lie sadly within the limits
of your own narrow mind,
and as the seagulls skim
the turbulent waters in oblivion
you wisp away into the violence of the sea.
