Deaths Colourful Sky

By SirEnders

I hate myself and everything affiliated
My fate, for 17 years, was anticipated.
No one lives forever, we will all fade
Everyday the options are weighed.
Why try to prevent death or agony
When all our lives end in tragedy.
Do you repress the inevitable day
When all of our lives turn grey.
Look around us, nothing remains
We are hindrances, simple stains.
This world will take its final turn
Not in our lifetime, but it will burn.
Constellations hide the very key
No one will hear our dying plea.
We are all alone, its simple and true
Death will reunite us all, strangely, we knew.
Some of us are happy with the lies
Others loathe these short, mortal ties.
We all find our strength after it's too late
Death will greet us at his hallowed gate.
Walk into his arms and feel his embrace
Then peer into his hidden, hooded face.
I cannot see him, but that doesn't matter
He cared when no one else saw me shatter.
The colours in the sky, are not near the ground
The colours are absent, grey and black are all around.
Look to the sky for beauty, seek grey for comfort
No need now for tears and pain, no longer suffer.
Love yourself if no one will, but it's not that easy
This cliff is high above it all, it is very breezy.
The colours are blown around you slowly
Now you are colourful, no longer smoky.
But now, you are unique and an outcast
Even in Death you're alone, now aghast.
Death is your only friend
He is the beginning of the end.

Depression has almost swallowed me several times and I wish I would have fallen asleep to not wake up. Life is to short, live it to the fullest while you still can. Great work .

Simple yet playful rhymes, a raw dark truth and a lot of tags. I thought it would be slow to read, but it flowed well. It surprised me.

Well, it must be said that this is really well written with tons of clever phrasing. As someone who's experienced this before, it's pretty relatable. Still, if this is what you're currently feeling, try enjoy the little things because that's all that will really get you by sometimes.

A real downer that just keeps getting more lonely and miserable in the futility of a hopeless and joyless isolation SE. But that aside my friend, it was well-composed and starkly suggestive of what we all feel from time to time. Enjoy the gaps between catastrophes and cheers! - Dan
