To Love the One that does not Love Himself
By felicity0444
I thought I could see well enough through your fog of self-loathing
to understand your reasoning.
If only I could see clearly enough to understand your obsession with thriving
on
hopelessness, anger, self-doubt, and unhappiness.
My imagination ran wild as I imagined I would be enough
Somehow be enough
What is our worth if not how we honor each other?
You honor your worth and my own by choosing
self-destruction, torture, and degradation of the soul.
Living in a pit of despair and throwing away all means of survival and
escape...hopeless.
Knowingly choosing internal soul mutilation
over your own health and happiness.
Hypocritical ways only serve to bind and confuse
not only you but all people within your circle.
Selfishness buries you under its black wings
cloaking you within its misery.
You believe it's others that bind you to your prison because your
striped wings do not blossom within your cell as flowers do in the sun.
It is you and you alone...that latches your shackles and throws away
the key.
You nurture your misery and grow your black flowers of doubt
always tending to them as they spread their seeds and spawn the clouds
of
icy rain that surround you.

You nurture your misery and grow your black flowers of doubt. Very powerful! I see it now.

I think we have all known those who are self destructive in one form or antoher but want to blame others for their failures. This work addresses an extremely difficult theme and does it with an astute understanding of the problem mixed with a talented use of the art form in its presentation.
