Love Is God's Little Joke

By Trichotillomaniac

The saddest tales are always of love
When girls grow nostalgic for their beloved
Boys cry quietly into their pre-stained covers
All whimpering and sadened for their lost lovers
I'd rather hold my head up high, then wallow in self remorse
I'm not going to pity myself and just make things worse
Love is the most tragic of tales
Telling of the broken heart and how it ales.

Why live in love, when you know it'll hurt.
When it all ends, you just feel like a piece of worthless dirt
You'll hike up that skirt a little higher
Hoping you can catch the eye of a new admirer
Love turns the sweetest girl into a slut
They try and look nice, giving that ol' playful strut
They're begging for attention, love and devotion
As if love is the answer to everything, our secret little magic potion

The way you cling to thoughts of him
Makes my stomach turn and my head slowly spin
Am I going to be one of the ones who falls into the pit?
Is it, when I'm with a guy, that I'll forget?
Will I forget all the suffering I must witness?
Will a man make me feel like a princess?

Am I so naive as to deny myself of true human emotion?
Love is supposed to happen, should I change that notion?
I don't want to learn to live with pain, but experiance are what make life worth any gain
Is this deciding my fate? Or trying to stop the what must go on?

Am I life's biggest fool?Or have I simply won?
