River of Tears
By Peyton1
I wrote this due to inspiration from Poetess Darkly's work "River". The
layout is a near exact lyrical replacement for the Pat Benatar song "Shadows
of the Night". I will post an audio link as soon as I find someone to record
it karaoke.
--Chorus intro-- --a cappella--
If only one more tear could make it right,
Forgive and then forget, there'll be no fight,
But rivers flow to drown the love inside,
She'll pull through in the end!
--15 second instrumental--
--Verse 1--
You said: Cold words, meant to scold her, left a broken heart made of glass,
Ea-sy: For you it seems, saying cutting things, yeah the hurt it's meant
to last,
And after everythings been said and done, always she's the wounded one!
--Chorus--
If only one more tear could make it right,
Forgive and then forget, there'll be no fight,
But rivers flow to drown the love inside,
She'll pull through in the end!
--Verse 2--
Your touch's tender, to mend her, while you're jokin' she's too weak,
You only, patronize, and then wonder why, she turns 'way when you speak,
When your words cut baby, it's like fire, used to burn her so easy but,
not this time!
--Chorus--
If only one more tear could make it right,
Forgive and then forget, there'll be no fight,
But rivers flow to drown the love inside,
She'll pull through in the end!
--22 second instrumental--
--Chorus--
If only one more tear could make it right,
Forgive and then forget, there'll be no fight,
But rivers flow to drown the love inside,
She'll pull through in the end!
--Verse 3_final--
And now the hurt and sorrow's left her eyes,
She's not cryin' when she,
Says goodbye!
--Chorus--
If only one more tear could make it right,
Forgive and then forget, there'll be no fight,
But rivers flow to drown the love inside,
She'll pull through in the end!
--Repeat chorus--

Hello, recently I have been working on songs and I have been wanting to turn some poems into songs. I really love your poem and was wondering if it would be okay with you if I would use your poem. Please contact me if you are okay with that.
