A Halloween tale...

By Peyton1

Happy Halloween! to each and every one here
It's time once again to spread that ghoulish cheer!

People of all ages get dressed to play, it's Oct. 31st
But what about those of us with an insatiable thirst?

Some would say it's a curse, some may see it as blessing
To believe it's population control, is not out of the question

The master created us, He made us into what we are
But it got out of hand, it wasn't meant to go this far

The student seeks the title of teacher, thru slow evolution
The witching hour's pitch black, so begins this revolution

They'll call us werewolves, zombies, or the dreaded vampire
Freshly spilled blood teaches a new lesson in reverse satire

Not wanting or able to believe what happened to them at first
But all eventually embrace the hunt as they succumb to the thirst

So beware as you 'trick or treat' with masked sight
for that thing that forever goes bump in the night

You could always run, not that it'd be of much help
You could always hide.......but not from YOURSELF!!
