Desperation Time Machine

By ToxicRedhead

I spend my days longing for before
Before to a time when love came easy
When I didn't have to work so damn hard
Just to keep my head above the waves

Too much hurt has befallen these souls
For things to ever be the same
Too many apologies hurled into the wind
Too many tears settling upon the pillow

A phantom has landed between my heart and his
Invisible to the eye, yet forever nagging
Haunting even in our tenderest moments
Once impassioned words have lost their meaning

Fire up the desperation time machine, my love
Erase the pain of one year's time
Let us float together with nothing between
But the sweet crazed lust of a time beforeĀ

I’d give anything to go back even just to relive moments with my late fiancée

wow, this is a brilliant piece! definitely have longed for that time machine myself before...although things can not be unknown, it is possible to move forward stronger and wiser with eyes wide open. Ciao, T/S Scholar

"A phantom has landed between my heart and his"...the inevitable spiral downward of a relationship that lands swiftly, delicately... This poem emphasizes the curse that is knowing that everything will come to an end before it even appears it will... Good work.
