Empty Stare

By Peyton1

An empty stare through windows tear stained
I refresh life's page yet still it stays so pained.

Vision is blurred from the black scorpion's poison
Everything around me grows increasingly noisome.

I wade through dreams turned nightmare by hope lost
Emotionless my expression and not mindful the cost.

Another day dawns and I question the need for it
Life's a rat race I just don't have the speed for it.

Silence is golden? Depends how long you listen.
What does it cause? Eyes that no longer glisten.

Time continues ticking away,
as wind escapes my sails.
No one comes out to play,
and all forward progress fails.....

Thanks for commenting Reiko, glad you found this work enjoyable. There's always more ink brewing in this pen, plenty of pain from my past to dig into for inspiration. Later.......................~Ace~
