The Burning Citadel on the Shores of Insanity

By Melankolia

The world was one as I drew my first breath...
The beginning of the End...
And the skies were clear as the freshly laid dawn...
Then the Darkness began...

You didn't want me, the stain of your incompetence...
You argued and fought, and in the end you forsook me...
Turned over to the wolves...
The world began to fall apart...

A life of not being wanted, years of separation...
Those who came after claimed the crown...
And as I died more inside,
You took from me my last shreds of humanity...

The world now a devisive duality...the wolves grew tired...
They too forsook me, out in the cold expanse...
Turned over to new masters, the day was gone...
Consumed utterly and completely by night...

I stood to become something...
Something a forsaken could never have...
I am the dark and wasted citadel...
I will forever burn on the shores of insanity....

AND YOU COULD HAVE STOPPED IT.

The world has reversed...it continues to fall...
The end for me approaches...
I have had enough...I have done my time...
What gave you the right to destroy me?

The darkness consumes...pulling the soul asunder...
The group of four responsible...
I will hate you forever...you will not escape...
My revenge will be to turn my back at your time of need...

The world lies destroyed now....scorched earth...
Depression replaces anger...
Unimaginable loss will follow me inexorably...
Until I take my last breath...

So when you look across the divide...
And see the burning ruin...
Remember who is responsible...who caused it...
And burn inside as you have destroyed me....
