The Sun-Dappled Path

By Melankolia

Speak softly, for herein lies the Day
Full of it's own reveries
It's own power, and it's own depth.
This path is circular, and never-ending.

See me now, crowned of Nature
The laurel and the autumnal breath
Facing East while the Sun rises
Facing again West in it's slow death.

There is life within the Path
But death, too, makes it's case for knowledge
There is no fear of the unknown
Once you have felt the fear of understanding.

Once I lived for today alone,
No thought for tomorrow's sorrow.
I find now the hand of Time
Stops each of us, in turn, against the rising tide.

Finding panacea within the Mind
Our thoughts show us the true intent.
Beggars in a land of plenty,
Brushing over words and thoughts as one.

Where will you go from here, child?
What have you learned?
The Sun-dappled path is yours to lose,
Waning 'ere the Sun drops course to the Unknown.
