Pierced in the heart from birth
She struggles with her life
Not because of pain
But because of loneliness

She feels as if she has
No one to turn to
Nowhere to hideĀ
From her worsening wound

And as the darkness engulfs her
Tears flow from her eyes
Wishing she could taste
True salvation

I thank you for writing this. This site keeps me up at night sometimes, purely because of the pleasures of reading these poems. This one is one of those types of poems. :)
