The Elements' Daughter
By Tadakimacun
I seek the paths of the Wind.
I seek the paths of the Water.
I seek the paths of the Earth and the Fire
and I am the Elements' Daughter.
I seek the paths of the spirit,
The paths that no eyes can tell,
I can be found in the Crystal Caves
Where within shadows and light I dwell.
What shall I answer if thou wouldst ask of me:
"Be ye Evil, or be ye Good?"
I shall answer, "Both and neither, child,"
as every true Witch should.
"I am for kindness and malice alike,
And I am for love and for slaughter;
Wild and lovely and unnamed am I,
the Witch and the Elements' Daughter."
At my words, thou turn'st and fly,
At the thought of me doing thee harm-
But my Parents weave for thee a cradle
With the promise of power through charm.
And when I am long cold and asleep i' the grave-
As sure as the tide comes to waters-
Thou shalt be seeking the hidden ways
As another of the Elements' Daughters.
