Maria Mysteree
never what you beg her to be

she doesn’t make love, she f*cks
yeah, she’s that kinda woman
a body that says she was born for it

when I scream at the mirror, you’re a man!
not a lump of pliable clay
I  can kiss her goodbye
I can walk away

then she comes up behind me, rips my shirt
she sucks on my neck, bites my shoulders
her red red mouth is all over me

I grab her hair. I slap her, slap her hard!
I push her away
thru the veil of her tousled tresses
she smiles. she shows me her fangs

she comes at me like a dervish
& right there on the floor we roll around
in the consuming fires of carnal
carnivorous desire

hours later, when I come to,
I’m back in her perfumed prison
the door unlocked, barricaded only by broken dreams

she’s in her bubble bath
lavender mist disguising her snakeskin
she luxuriates. she knows what she is

g*ddamnit! go ahead, break my f*ckin heart!
like you destroy everything!
