Lasher

By angelunderneath

*Inspired by a book*

""Come now, my Lasher, be my avenger, strike down my enemies!" Bending double sheraised her hands, her face red and stricken with rage. "I see you, Lasher, I know you! I call you!" And straightening and flinging out her arms: "Destroy my sons, destroy my accusers! Destroy those who have come to see me die!""

In a frenzy of anger you call to it
Your Beloved
It does your bidding
Making the storms come
Your ememies perish
You call again in desparation
It will bring you riches
Beyond your wildest dreams
Only for a small token of your love
A molecule of your human existence
It loves you, worships you
But what will you have to give
In return?
For your devotion will not
Satisfy it for eternity
It wants your life
Your childrens lives
Their childrens lives
It wants knowledge and power
That your lifetime cannot beqeath
Once you have called to it
It will not depart
It is yours everlasting
Your demon
To do your bidding
And also,
Some of its own

I must admit, this is good...although even if you're writing about a book, it can still come from the heart, as I think this one did, you just didn't realize it.

Have more faith in your knowledge. I really enjoy this poem. Demons come and go. But body will follow the mind and the demon will get exactly what it wants when it wants it. Great piece. Thanks ~P.B~
