Grand Guignol Love (Paula Maxa: la première fois)

By heroineyes

capture butterflies in
discarded mason jars and
make sand castles in the tide
your friends are fake
and my art is dead
wrapped in ribbon on
your doorstep

Herschell Gordon Lewis
officiating the ceremony
(with an incision of embrace)
liberates the bondage of decay
drawn back by a pile of broken tools

and i ask,
"how do i know love"

That whole first stanza was outstanding...the imagery and how it really sticks with the reader. Very well written xoxo
