Alone in the dark...
By Despair
It's so cold
But the darkness enevoloping me keeps me warm
All I remember is shaking
Shaking with excitement and fear
As I kiss myself goodnight
In my own special way
I inhale sharply
The cold, burning kiss pierces me
I smile
Some of the warmth leaves me
The blackness is broken by a brief line of red...
...and one more...
...and one more...
...and ten more...
More than originally intended...
...oh well
The more, the merrier...
The pain, the redness, the desire...
Has become so mundane
So routine
It doesn't matter anymore
Nothing matters anymore
Shaking as I take a last look before slumber arrives
It's so cold...

Sh*t, I'm broken with empathy. Vividly illustrative writing. It stopped mattering with me to, but I realised I'm worth much more.

Thank you. I can only hope that I too will realize that some day.

Everyone has their off day where we don't feel like ourselves. This was a sad tale. xoxo

Indeed. Unfortunately, that's most days for me. Thank you for commenting.

An incredibly sad work of a desperate urge to escape from life, and a feeling I can relate to. Beautifully described. i could imagine someone sitting alone in total darkness with a sad ironic smile upon his face while more and more red appears on his arms, slowly fading away, everything fading away, I must say this is a beautiful work
