Closed mind
By devilsrighthand
Don’t let them through the gate,
Keep the entrance to your mind barred shut,
Let them in and accept your fate,
They will make you their little slut.
They’re pushing now, you can’t give in
The doors just about to break!
They’re going to get in, you can’t win.
The door splinters, but you're awake.
The sheets wrapped tightly around your legs,
Sweat beads running down your face,
Is that a noise? From under the bed?
The walls start moving in, you’re running out of breathing space.
The bed suddenly starts to fall.
Maybe it wasn't just a dream after all.

The last line really sets it all off.
This poem is full of conflict, the push and pull feeling of 'am I dreaming or not?'
The quick flow and rhymes really suit it, nice work.

The worst nightmare I had was so bad I ended up sleepwalking into my parent's room and started hitting them. But anyway I really enjoyed the striking description, especially the part about the sheets having a hold on your legs:) awesome write and looking forward to more.

a very suffocating feeling, one can feel the words from textbooks weighing on your soul... may exams always produce such work !

Damn this felt really claustrophobic, everything enclosing in, leaving you gasping for air, making everything seem surreal. Excellent work.
