Wonderland: A Recollection
By Asylum
Gather 'round, and lend your ears,
I'll take you back in time.
To places spawned of violent fears;
to terror in its prime.
Where acid rained from blackened skies,
and scorched its
barren plains.
A land of hate with ill-reprise
festooned
in desolate pain.
The outskirts, marred with rotting flesh,
gave wake to ravenous fiends.
These parasites of plagued undeath
would feast with no reprieve.
The Slaughterfields, bereft
of life,
that churned with rabid decay
harbored naught
but virulent strife,
enlaced with caustic dismay.
Piggybacked by razor winds,
putrescence burned the air.
Every breath was drawn in sin,
and all were caught in the flare.
Nevermore could they endure;
the unholy, festering blight.
A putrid death for the unpure,
and all had perished in fright.
Barricaded from this world;
The Wonderland, lost in time.
It lies in wait to claim its hold
with a deathgrip so divine.
