Mom, why?

By Ekoe-Angelee

You would think she would be great,
The most loving person you are supposed to know,
But of course not! She is full of hate!
Love for me, she will never show.

I've always wondered if the love was ever even there,
If she even has just one ounce for me,
I wish she would share,
Maybe one day, I’ll have a caring family.

Years are passing by,
Feelings are growing cold,
Tears are all gone now, no more left to cry,
Maybe, just maybe, one day I will get told.

Until then, I will be confused,
This terrible feeling will haunt me,
Sometimes it’s worse than being abused,
Maybe one day she will see.

All the hurt and anger will come out,
But she will just say I am crazy,
And then get ready, all we will do is shout,
It feels like a losing battle for me.

The headaches won’t go away,
Sometimes I don’t know what to do,
There is almost nothing more to say,
But, mom all you have to say is “I LOVE YOU”!

I just want you to mean it,
Just once, why is that so hard to see?
I am tired of putting up with this shit!
Mom, why aren't you there for me?

I wrote this when I was a child. I am 29 now, but I still have not ever felt that kind of love. I have a wonderful family now. I created my own!

Our parents are the foundations of ourselves, of how we see the world. And that is a big responsability that many arent capable of dealing with it. And then they destroy someone's life, we pay for our father's and mother's sins, but know this... never feel guilty, because this was in no way your fault. I guess you must know this now since you have walked a long path since those days. I'm glad you have now a family of your own, hope now you can have some rest from those days.
