Monster Of Society

By Malcholm Dark

Here in his room alone at night
When the dark demons come calling.

Their shadows moving around him
The haunting spirits of time's past.

Lost children of his retched ness
Kidnapped, molested then strangled.

Always with him after each kill
Tormenting him, reminding him...

Of what he has been known of late
Of what he has become--Monster!
.
.
.
The paths taken have molded his ways
Strung out behind him, long and dark.

All of his goodness has faded
Burnt out like a cheap motel sign.

He watches the parks and school yards
Always coiled and ready to strike.

An abomination unleashed
Living amongst us down the street.

He has been known to us of late
Of what he has become--Monster!
.
.
.
Here in his room and all alone
When the dark demons come calling.

Within an outburst of madness
He is beset by a hunger.

Catch him please, before it's too late
So this horror won't continue.

Cries of the innocent echo
Tears of another have fallen.

One more amber alert goes out
One more missing poster goes up.
.
.
.
.
.
One more child's spirit comes calling!
