Safari

By Daryl Bracken

 I am filled with excitement
For years I have planed
Now I am here
On safari

 The day of the hunt
I am walking on clouds
Equipment is checked
On safari

The guides lead the way
My anticipation is growing
Looking for elephants
On Safari

There on the tree line
It is majestically massive
I must take a shot
On safari

I look through the site
I see clearly its eye
In it only sadness
On safari

 It sees me and trumpets
The day is fading
 My time is fleeting
On safari

I am growing impatient
The day is growing to night
Once more line up my shot
On safari

He makes a mock charge
My finger twitches
I take the shot
On safari

I swear to god
it is The best picture I have ever taken

...very dramatic. I could hear the swelling anticipation of drums, & we are thankful for the redeeming ending...

Sounded quite mean but came out quite keen, leave the old tuskers alone, cheers to you Daryl!
