Technology
By daiglepoems
We've come a long way
in the last fifty years.
The military's
gay
to alleviate our fears.
There's satellites in orbit.
Subs beneath the sea.
So much I can't absorb it.
Kinda like
infinity.
There's pills for giving pleasure,
for kicking
down a door.
Extra pills for good measure.
Pills that make
your penis roar.
There's endless legislation
making sure
that all is well.
Chronic constipation
with laws to kill the
smell.
Machines that check our spelling.
Machines that
park our car.
Machines designed for telling us
How long?
How fast?
How far?
We've got telescopes in space
that chart the universe
yet for the human race,
it's only
getting worse.
We're overpopulated.
Undersourced.
Overplayed.
Our advances are negated
by the progress that we've made.
The feeble living longer.
The sick among us thrive.
The bee's
a little stronger
but we're poisoning the hive.
We modify
and alter
everything from A to Z.
When the day comes that we
falter
what will be our legacy?
Will we walk a happy trail?
Sprout feathered wings and fly?
Or will we tuck tail
curl
up and die?
Will we wander through the stars?
Be swallowed
by the sea?
Build a colony on Mars
or die in mediocrity?

ONly the dinosaurs can tell us perhaps? Will we even know when it happens, or will it be a lingering dissolution maybe? Always a good read, thanks Marty.

This is an awesome poem. Fantastic Flow and the truth is more scarier then fiction. Technology will be the death of us one day. ][ ][

It's sad that poetry like this doesn't get enough light. This is a diamond in the rough.
