Awaiting Armageddon
By daiglepoems
It came from out there somewhere.
In awe we watch.
In fear.
It came from out of nowhere
and now it's almost here.
From the darkest depths of space.
The emptiness and void
to terminate the human race.
A killer asteroid.
They say one killed the dinosaurs.
A flaming crash and burn.
Will we emulate their roars
now that it's our turn?
No way we can deflect it.
We haven't got the power
to destroy or redirect it.
It will be here in an hour.
The atmosphere is warming.
The skies begin to redden.
The animals are swarming.
Awaiting Armageddon.
I guess that's the ball game friend.
The bottom of the inning.
Is this the way it's going to end
or just a new beginning?

Nice, I enjoyed the flow. Love the bit "the atmosphere is warming, the skies begin to redden, the animals are swarming, awaiting armageddon".

God's messenger arrived at dawn, and all Hell broke loose, planet killer! Well said and we are indeed kindred spirits when it comes to some things, history is on your side indeed. And it comes from the dark of the sun and around the moon!
