Withered

By chococat_122

The way I see you

Through bright young

Eyes,

Withered like

A dying rose,

Dwindling away to

Nothing.

I walk through life

Acutely aware

Of how time ticks on

Around me,

Always another second closer

To you.

Always another second closer

To death.

With young eyes

I see you decay

Into nothing

Waiting only

It seems

For death.

How is it you’re so full of life

When you’re so close to death?
