Oblivion
By AshtrayDirt
Do you miss the kiss of my cold lips?
Close your eyes and let yourself slip.
Do you miss the risk of my emptiness?
Touch the black in this bottomless pit,
Feel the bliss of oblivion.
I want to crush the world with my fists,
Offer up the blood of the faithless.
Sacrifice brings light into the darkness
Down upon your knees before the goddess
Withdrawn, I bury your dead
A new day is dawning, with a gun to my head
Curse the silence, paint the sunset red.
A new day is dawning,
Nothing is sacred.
Open your eyes with a feeling of dread,
God is laughing with a gun to my head.

This poem has been one of the best I've read so far. I only just entered the site and have found few that I can relate to. You and thprophetuntold are my favorite.

Life really is against us isn't it. It's a challenge, but you can make it your own. I see that shit. Good stuff

This is the kind of "slap you in the face" poetry that I live for. I am so glad I discovered you.
