Magazine Covered Skies

By Dragonfly

Words are paper roses and magazine cover skies
Clouds made up of tabloids and complexly folded lies

The other day I read one and it made me think of you
A girl who talks all night and goes to sleep at two

Nocturnally your vicious by day your soft as light
But I sorrow the man who is ignorant enough to cross your path at night

Words are paper roses and magazine cover skies
Each lie with another truth close and tightly tied

Her pictures mark the pages for a night she drank too many beers
For others this is common, but for her the sin of the year

She had gone home with a random man and fucked him long and hard
It wasn't till the next day she realized there were paparazzi in her front yard

Words are paper roses and magazine cover skies
We may say they are vicious, but we continue to buy

Wrapped inside her fathers arms she cries every day
Hoping that tomorrow she'll be no one and all the rumors will fade away
