My Light

By Dragonfly

For you I would spend eternity picking
every star from the sky until your were
the brightest and prettiest thing in this universe
but I won't because even with those competitors
against you they are no foe in my eyes because
you shine to me like a lone firefly locked in a jar
with enough light for the whole world to see

For when you are gone i feel as if the darkness
in my eyes are actually the covering of your hands
So in truth you are never really gone
as your always with me on the inside
Your the light in my heart that keeps it a flight
and the wind beneath its wings
the rock-a-bye angel i see every night
and of all the lies she sings

For you I would spend eternity picking
every star from the sky
until you were the brightest and prettiest
thing in the universe, but dear your much purer thanĀ I
So lie in that casket with toothpicks for bones
and let me kiss your cheek
for no matter how much of ugly covers those bones
you've always been beautiful to me.

wow this is really beautiful... it'd be nice if more people bore such passion (outside of this website, that is)
