Hand in My Hand

By Dragonfly

Hand in my hand I led you through darkness
and explained why mom wouldn't be around anymore
your hand in my hand past the now lifeless carcass
I watched as you brought me down to floor

And your tears were my tears
and my ache was your ache
And your fears were my fears
but my fears you could not take

They took us apart and into custody
of mothers we could never love
all those mothers took time to raise you and me
we only loved the one up above

Then we grew apart and we no longer saw
what we used to when we would play games
and now as your wrists bloody and raw
show a fate exactly the same

But you tears are still my tears
and my ache is still your ache
And your fears are my fears
but my fears you can not take

I led you through darkness
with caressing hands
past loves empty carcass
through each grain of glass turned to sand

I know not where you are but now know for sure
my tears are your tears and those aches are still your ache
my fears are your fears
those fears today you still take

You let me lead through darkness
with tightly gripped hands
past loves empty carcass
through sharp glass made of sand.
