Free Rest

By AllenTaylor

It took so long
To come to terms with yourself
He was too strong
It's not your fault a covered mouth
Muted your cries for help
What is left inside your soul?
Shattered fragments to be made
Whole

It's all right
It's all right now
Come and lay your head on my chest
This cold night
You cry so weak, so mild
In my arms
You'll find
Free Rest

Broken inside
Against your will buried alive
Escaping your mind
You want a place to crawl, to curl up and
DieWhat is left inside your soul?
Shattered fragments to be made
Whole

No more smiles
Left to fake through
I'd give my life a way
Just to take you...
