Almost

By ButterflyCity

you danced like ember
taking it's time to fall.

i was the ground, not moving,
ever so still...
holding my breath, finding a
new way to breathe again
because you pulled me into
this trance...

you ignited a flame without
ever touching me, you were
my yellow sun, and i was
.....earthbound..
too scared, too shy..

you cascaded to me..
while i traced your dance
with my eyes, so beautiful,
teasing..

but you just faded.
faster than you caught flame.
and i was just the ground,
never moving,
forever so still.

i just wanted to catch you.

Your imagery with the ashes, embers in motion, flame, I was truly captivated. I felt the fleeting moment at the end, it floors you. Great write.

honestly at first i wasnt planning on taking this seriously but thank you for giving me a reason to. you held true to the themes and metaphors you created and followed them through in a logical climax of action. hey. good job

So eager to go along. So eager to follow, and yet left behind for no good reason. That is the feeling this brings.. ^V^
