My Mural
By pessum ire animus
This heart breaks into pieces
From a stained glass mural
Chipped
and cracked, the strength not there
To hold up the story, anymore
Midflight, from life to death
A glimmer of light reflects
Off the shards, falling in slow motion
Only for a second, the reflection
for hours
Each piece, unique and indifferent
Ruined by
a single blow
So many lives destroyed, yet one perpertrator
The
shadows remove the only glimmer left
Individually together,
mindlessly thoughtful
As a whole entity, faces impact.
Shattered
glass, broken lead. Once a beautiful Mural
Divide into a million
pieces,
My heart, a million pieces

I enjoyed the choice language used to describe this mural, this dissected facade, perhaps... there is a depth to the expression that lends itself to the reader openly.... and yet, it is broken for all. I like the opposition in the last stanza.... the ending repetition worked for me, as if to bring that solemn tone to the fore. well done, and thank you. ... oh... *by* a *single* blow? maybe?

Thank you. For both the comment and the typo correction. I guess I should start using that nifty spell checking thingy

de nada.... it was so carefully structured, I really wasn't sure if it was a typo or poetic license...
