birds
By alex herewane
We are all fading into nothing
look at each other and do our best
to deny it
the sky throws light purple to black, light red, light
yellow and blue
as the sun withdraws it's heat, wilpena pound unfolds
like a woman in love
I am strong today
My nature is true
I
sing today
Just like a rossetta bird at play
When I fall into
nothing, nothing will be taken away
There's a rattle at your
window as the rain belts down
It rattles again and sounds the same
pull back the curtains and there in the dark is a water logged crow
with nowhere to go
open the window
open the window
open
the window
I want sit in harmony with every pebble on the
beach
take my idenity
twist the plan
there's a magpie eating
out of the palm of my hand
the seagulls they smile and they dance
being fed for them is a moment of chance
spiritual surrender
take a bow
spiritual surrender
I'll make it there somehow

loved the reiteration that sinks into the spirit so wildly, so profoundly.....made me smile for a moment.
