Tree Of Knowledge

By forgoten_wolf

death greets thee with cold hands of ice
welcoming with a mischievous warm smile of fire
a world with no torture
final peace quiet tranquility
for eternity
the suffering vanished invisible
the illness gone for good
the pain no longer
this is my final escape
freedom
awaiting for the one morning
where I'll never have to meet daybreak
relief from the burning
--but--
there is the beauty of nature only seen by pure eyes
loving sounds weaving together forming music
can't be heard by ears clogged with dirt
no love would be felt any longer
time wasted on sweet dreams and sleep
nothing but lies
complications a knife
cutting the line short
a disgrace a sign of weakness
this one sin greater of all sins
--both--
Lucifer and Jehovah
their hands stretched out towards me
eternal death or perfect immortality
therefore I continue suffering
threaded to the little good life can offer
unselfish this life not mine
I live for you

Excellent piece, I could almost feel death's icy hands brush my cheek. The ending was also unique, choosing to suffer and turning away outstretched hands. Write on. Scholar
