Happy Samhain
By Wiccad
In October the trees shed their leaves
Longer are the nights and
colder the breeze
Little ghosts and ghouls come out to play
Hiding
their faces and gorging on sweets
For this is Samhain, a chance to
meet
The children dress up and they like it this way
Knowing
their fun is over the very next day
They fill their bags with mystery
treats
And yell and scream while roaming the streets
They trick
and treat , door to door begging for more
Their souls are singing
praises on this night
Not understanding just who they are singing
for
This night is sacred for those who believe
Donning
their robes and lighting the candles
Praying and chanting for the
veil is thin
Opening portholes and inviting them in
Among the
children they blend so well
To walk on this plain and escape their
hell
Sweets and treats keep the demons at bay
Their crooked teeth
and wicked smiles
Resembling the carved out pumpkins all the while
They walk this earth but once a year
Creating havoc and envoking
fear
So get dressed up and have some fun
Eat sweet treats for
morning will come
Celebrate Samhain and gather and cheer
For
Halloween only happens but once a year
