Lost/Found

By FallenFaith

the dust is settled and your scent is gone,
but I still feel you as I'm movin along,
theres a gash in my side I'm unable to hide,
and so I write this song.

yes it's hard to comprehend how things could wind up like this,
but I still somehow lose myself when I remember your kiss,
it's funny the things I'd ignore just because I adored you.

So when you shoved that sword of yours right through my heart,
even though the signs were pretty clear it was time to depart,
I pushed myself onto your blade to the handle just to be closer.

But why'd you have to twist it when you pulled out like that,
it ripped apart everything I knew at the drop of a hat,
you can hardly even face me even though you know you're forgiven.

I always considered you my reflection,
but now I'm reflecting indeed,
you see there's this one objection,
your self is still in need,
until you give it up as I have,
you can't give yourself to me,
so I think it's time you found you,
and set yourself free.
