Begin Again

By Wiccad

 Reflections of desperate moments
In the pools behind our eyes.
Pouring out the salty blackness of our cries.
Caught in the vast between here and there.
The words and actions of desperation
Untold truths rear their ugliness
Cover your ears because it will burn
Like red embers of an open flame.
There are no fingers here pointing blame.
Only the sadness and its remains.
A thickening veil that engulfs the human condition
Feelings and emotions all that make us different.
Turn on us, as we lose the fight
Blacken our hearts and reduce our sight.
Unforgiving guilt and sadness
Driving us to acts of madness.
Killing and cutting just to feel something
The animal within, these lines we are crossing
We will tear each other until nothing is sacred
Taking lives in exchange for emptiness
The final days will prove humanity unworthy
Too much feeling and not enough healing

Pull back the skin and start again.
