1692

" Let us all take a journey back to fear, guilt, and anxiety."
The women and children of Salem never knew, the accusations made by children
would seal their doom. Young women throwing fits and speaking in tongues
there were few. The towns curse had began with three girls in 1692. There
Reverend Parris would lead the attack afraid of things he couldn't understand.
The girls three were diagnosed with bewitchment by Doctor Mad. The Doctor
proclaimed it was the Devils work at Witches hands. The men in black demanded
the Witches names, The girls three terrified of being caught in their lie
blurted out three names they seemed to pull from the skies. These women
were hunted and then beaten into submission. The first accused her name
was Tibuta, weak from all their beatings said she was a Witch and with
the others held meetings. A story teller at heart she went on as to how
a black dog had threatened her and gave the orders to hurt the children.
Second and third accused were Sarah and Sarah they hadn't a chance, now
no one would see. The girls three would throw fits for the show as each
accused entered the court room below. Contorting their bodies and making
trance states all for the men in important drag. The trials then spread
beyond Salems gates. Twenty two communities now suffered the same fate.
One hundred people now stand accused by the fifth month of 1692. Imprisoned
and charged and due soon to hang. The first death by the sixth month on
the tenth day. The pregnant ones were set free, the others hung no one
to hear their pleas. For now on Salems Gallows Hill, the earth underneath
would soon begin to fill. Shallow were the graves for the innocents accused.
Gone mad with power the girl accusers pointed their fingers at anyone they
choose. They filled the gallows and the earth below, the bringers of death
but little did the three know. On the tenth month and the twenty ninth
day the courts were dissolved, no more could the girls play. The paticipants
and the accusers were now going to pay. For years after they all suffered
from illness and plague. And in the year 1703 the colonial lords granted
retroactive amnestie to share for all the convicted and executed there.
Unfortunately too late for all the souls taken there.

Thanx for the comments.........I had a hard time with the wording of this. It makes me sad like speaking at a funeral.

The sorrow fills my heart for the loss of innocents. A very nice write, and tale told. These innocent women didn't need to suffer as they did. False accussations should blister the tongues. *sigh*
