Rattling The Bones
By Wiccad
Drawing slowly back the pages
Of my life and all its stages
There
remains a soul
A dark place that's empty and cold
Something
needs to fill that space
Caving in, things falling out of place
Will it not retreat to make it all clear
That dark little pit storing
all my fear
Please cut me open and dig within
Remove the
blackness that has settled in
That cold dark place that fills with
rage
A wild animal trapped in a cage
Take that needle and
sew it shut
Pierce my skin or make the cut
Shiny blades that
flicker in light
I promise now, there will be no fight
Walk
through cemetery paths at dawn
Just to feel the goings on
Rattle
the bones and beg for peace
From this dark pit there is no release

Goodness, that was a great read... Dark visuals pounding away at the reader... The last verse was perfection and made the entire poem what it is... a masterpiece... thanks.
