The Pit
By charliebrown
The bottomless pit
where the creatures gather,
their foaming
fangs
with red blood lather.
Sitting in silence
edging
their axe,
the lonely man nears
they began their attack.
They sever his throat
and suck dry his vains,
they rip
out his heart
and laugh at his pain.
They cut out his soul
and toss it about,
and feast on his fears
from the inside out.
What's left of the man
in the bottomless pit,
he's one
of them now
in silence they sit.
