Beauty and the Beast

By Berry Fantastic

Betwixt and tween the eyes of yore
There came a being on the shore
The moonlight captured in his hair
Cool darkness in his midnight stare
Glimmering skin still wet from waves
Crimson lips from what he craves

Cold hand with sand beneath her nails
Struggle fleeting with misty gales
The ocean's lust to have the girl
Low rumble, crash, retreat and churl
Their footsteps lost, his secret kept
The one who's hunger never slept

Imperfect breath and blood have gone
One lie, her unsung siren's song
Pale beauty of abysmal depths
The dance of life which has no steps
No rhythm left, no beating heart
This silence had become his art

This creature that was born of sin
One born dead then born again
No heart inside, no soul to claim
Born of such hate it has no name
No love to warm his cheek with blush
Born without love and died as such

Born with hunger, born with pain
With sorrow's tempest cloud and rain
Yet does the moon not love the sun
Love all of that which it has none
Adore, and love, and lust with greed
And with desire lust to feed

And beauty's hope, an aching lie
Embrazened her, made her unshy
And thus impassioned, true nature released
Did beauty die from the hands of the beast
By the maidens of fate the thread was cut
And beauty was lost to the lonely glut

Hunger unquenched, passion enraged
Monster inside of him free and uncaged
Upon beauty's face his eyes would dwell
A beast yet trapt by beauty's spell
For beauty killed the beast in him
Yet twas the beast killed beauty's vim
