Soul Mate
By Wiccad
So cold and harsh to the outsiders.
Your heart bruised by years
of abuse and neglect.
The walls you have been built
to keep
the darkness out.
Your loses have been many.
Smiling when your
soul aches,
whispering pleasantries in my ear.
Telling me always
"every things alright"
and if it wasn't for me your heart would be
stone.
Because life is too painful and harsh.
Just existing is
the hardest thing.
You take care of me and support my choices.
You took my heart and have kept it safe
From predators waiting
to tear it apart.
Now I see what it's done to you.
Taking on
too much, it's crushing you.
It's trying to beat you down.
Yet
you stand firm, quivering on the inside.
If I could free you of this
I would.
Too see you truly happy if I could.
Giving you back
to the world unharmed and whole
Would be my final gift, and giving
you my soul.

Wiccad, that was without a doubt the best poem of yours I have read. The wonderful darkness and a perfect ending made for a fantastic read. The total flow was just perfect. thank-you!
