Of Moons & Stars, Ruins & Scars
She was happy,Â
he was happy,Â
they were happy.Â
…or so she thought.Â

These jupiter-eyes betrayed me.

I’m sick of seeing lies as truths.Â
It’s hard enough to believe inÂ
impossibilities
without dishonesties
slithering up and down,Â
around, again,Â
back and forth.Â
And here we goÂ
and now we stop.
And now hearts drop,
spill and splatter;
what is the matter?Â
And what does equalÂ
one plus one,Â
when one bows out
so you add another?Â
Except the other one halts,Â
-hesitant as ever-
cuz he never can predictÂ
rain or sunny weather,
“No clouds in the sky â€
seems less like Happily Ever
and more likeÂ
This Won’t Last Forever;
you no longer trust your eyes.
You no longer trust your eyesÂ
whenever you see good
because good was badÂ
and good went gone--
it all came out wrongÂ
when she said it was right,
when he promised one nightÂ
but then it all fell apart.
And now you sit too hurt to startÂ
again and anew
while I look at you expectantly,
but I don’t expect much
...just the moon and the stars.
That same starÂ
you used to wish upon above you.Â
That same star
you throw your empty bottles to
with a shout, a whimper, and a tear,
two violent words,Â
and a middle finger,
“Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you!â€
You always pray for someone
who just might hear you.
...I hear you loud and clear...
Your hungry soul never feeds.
Your bloody heart,Â
it no longer bleeds;
was once a hole.Â
Now, a scar.
And I know how you feel,
I’ve felt it, I swear,
but I’m still standing,Â
reaching far…
and I’m no astronaut.
We can sit and stare,
lift up our shirts,
contrast, compare,Â
but never take the time to repair?
To rebuild, to step forward, to move on?
All because what you once thought was right,
in the end, was wrong?
And now you sit stranded, alone.
And now there’s sorrow in your vocal tone... I hear it, I hear it,
I hear it.Â
It sounds just like my own.
But if neither of us hope,
then we’ve already tied the rope and raised the noose.
It’s time to open our hands-- let the past loose;
for if we don’t, I’m sorry, but I know...Â
you and me to the moon and back?
Well, let’s just say… we won’t go.

I wrote this around the 23rd/24th/25th. Hope it's not too rhyme-y.Awards

Wow I think a lot of us get into these lasting funks where we need something to finally fall into place instead of just being another thing that went to hell. Very upsetting but an interesting read.
