Those Days

By Silent Assassin

I remember when life was simple
When life was ahead of us
When worries didn’t consist of money
Emotional scares
Heartbreak
Or even death of loved ones
Where cartoons were watched every afternoon
Letdowns that were few and far between
Where we would discuss games, shows, and movies
Not who someone fucked this week
A time where memories stand still
When girls were seen as crushes and not sex objects
When people would do the right thing and for the right reasons
Times like that are long gone
Goodbye to the days where summer was summer vacation
Where hangouts were many and days were never long enough
Where friends were friends
Not just another number
Where friend’s betrayals were blasphemous
Trust was instant
The last thing on our minds were lies and deceit
Those days
Who would have thought they would be gone

Even though those days are gone, at least they are a memory, rather had than never had. Kudo's to a nice work on youth and innocence
