Blackout Rumble

By Soldier Of Silence

Walking down the street with nothing but the moon as your only source of light, you begin to head toward a pitch black alley to seek shelter from the demanding attention of the wind which seems to blow on endlessly. You step into the darkness immediately protected by the tall buildings around you. The wind seems to have stopped, but really you know it's torterous gusts are lurking just around the corners of the buildings you've sought to protect you. You gather yourself and try to warm yourself up for a few minutes while your hiding in the darkness, when all of a sudden the wind stops completely and you hear a sound off in the distance....farther down the alley. As you slowly make your way towards the sound you realize what you're hearing is music and you see a faint glow coming from beneath what looks like a door. You feel around for a handle or a knob or something...anything that will get you out of this cold. When you locate one, you jiggle the handle only to find it's locked. However, upon your disappointment at this discovery, a small window hatch in the door lights up and a face appears within. You don't recognize the man in the door, but he asks you of your business. You look a little puzzled at first, but then begin to explain to him that you're only looking to stay warm for a few minutes because the wind is so fierce that you're afraid it will blow you over. The man looks at you and then disappears behind the door. After a few seconds you hear the sounds of locks being turned and taken out of place and the door swings open into a large room jam packed with sweaty bodies bumping and rubbing in time to some pretty heavy metal stuff. Most males in black pants with plenty of chains and studded jewelery, most females in short skirts, and black tops....mesh, halter, tube, spaghetti and what not. You step into the room feeling quite misplaced with your blue jeans and white t-shirt but decide to make yourself as comfy as possible. As you begin to look around you notice two separate groups. The group you first noticed walking into the room was what you guessed the dancing portion....while on the other side of the room off in the distance you notice a group of people surrounding a fenced in area, screaming and yelling at something you couldn't quite see. You push your way through the mob of bodies getting many stares as you make your way to the other side of the room and you get a mixed feeling as you arrive to the other side. You find that the second group of cheering people are cheering on a couple fighting in the fenced in area. It hits you then. You're in a fight club! You've heard of these places before.. and of course you've seen the movie..I mean, what guy hasn't, right? You notice this is a little different though. It seems as if all of the people that aren't dancing aren't wearing any black....and all the people that are dancing are wearing black. You wonder why....but just then a group of armed men come from behind you and drag you closer to the cage. You fight back out of instinct because whatever the reason is..you don't want to be in that cage and you sure as hell don't want to be around some armed people that you don't even know. You get scared all of a sudden when you realize, you're the next in line to fight. You stare around at the spectators and then look into the cage. You stare at the blood on the ground and the body of a man being dragged out of the cage..then up at a man covered in blood himself. He's toweling off and you realize the blood isn't his. Upon closer inspection of the man being dragged away, you notice his head seems to flop about without control. You realize that his throat has been torn out. You start to panic and fight even more as you're getting dragged closer and closer to the ring. With all your fighting experience, you're still terrified at what's about to happen. You're a decent size person. Six one, and built like an athelete should be...muscle, strenth, speed, and not an ounce of fat. While big, you're also quite slender and not as bulky as most football players. You've studied many forms of martial arts, but never have you dreamed of the day when you would ever have to used them. You also happen to be ex-military. You've served during peace time operations so you've never actually faced combat. You get tossed into the ring and it's on. The crowd cheers on your opponent and he comes after you in a blur of speed. He hits you dead on and stuns you, knocking all the breath from your body and rides you to the ground. He hits you across the face so many times you barely have a chance to react. Left, right, left, right, left, right, and on and on. You lay there and an idea comes to mind...you close your eyes and turn your head all of a sudden and play like you've been knocked out. The man on top of you takes the bait and and stops hitting you. Right then you take the opportunity and put all of your strength into one punch that you land right across his face. It takes him by surprise and he rolls off of you half stunned. You pull yourself out from underneath him and get to your feet shaking your head to clear your vision which is blurring in and out. You kick the guy in the face and blood sprays out of his mouth. You kick him again in the chest and force him back against the fence. He's pinned between you and the cage as you drop to your knees in front of him. You press your knee into his chest and hit him with everything you've got one hand after the other, back and forth, hitting him like you were taught to hit. He screams and the crowd cheers you on at your new found glory. Adrenaline rushes into your body and excites you beyond belief as you lay into your opponent, bloodying his face. You pull him up and drag him to his feet. You yell that you're finished and you can't do any more damage to him. The crowd dies down a bit and the gaurds return with a shorter man in a suit. The short man tells you that you have to finish him or you'll be executed. You tell him you still refuse and you pace closer to the short man. The man in the suit glares at you and then widens his eyes as you step closer. You wonder why, then realize, this man looks oddly familiar. Just then it hits you.....He's the man that killed your family and drove you to wandering the streets as a little boy. You've been looking for this man all your life and swore that one day you'd get your revenge. Since you're spitting image of your dad, he has no problem in recognizing just who you are. He gets this sly grin and tells his guards who you are. The all laugh and bring their weapons up to aim at you. The shorter man tells them to shoot if you take another step. You pause in mid motion and stand at attention in front of the shorter man thinking to yourself what to do next. Out of nowhere you feel anger coursing through your body. You charge the little man and pick him up. Since you have him in your arms the gaurds quickly lower their weapons in fear that they'll shoot their boss. You ram into the closest gaurd throwing both the gaurd and the little man to the ground. You reach for the gun in the gaurds side holster and roll out of the way cocking the gun and turning aroung to face the gaurds in one fluid motion. As you get to your feet you shoot the first gaurd you see and run toward the mob of people that are still dancing. They screem as gunshots spray around them and people drop to the ground, some dead, some wounded and some just protecting themselves. You leap over some of the bodies and crash into another group of people. You duck and leap behind a counter for cover. With your back pressed againt the counter you peek around the edge and fire a couple rounds at another gaurd coming toward you, dropping him to the ground dead in his tracks. You scramble for his fallen weapon and leap back behind the counter for cover again. You check the magazine for rounds and see that it's still full. Great you think. You come inside to hide from the cold and now you're fighting for your life and getting shot at. You look around for an escape plan and come across an idea. You peek out again and drop another gaurd with a few shots and see what you're looking for. You take careful aim and shoot at a power box across the room. The lights go out and you run for the door shooting behind you. You hear screams as you drop another gaurd or two. You make it to the door and pull back the locks and shoot off another one. You run into the cold night back up the alley and into the wind you escaped from earlier. You look for a liquor store or something close with a phone that you can call for help from. Just then you see something better. A group of cops! And nonetheless, they're all at a donut store! You fire off three rounds into the air and the cops come running out of the donut store. They see you running and tell you to drop your weapon. You throw the gun and start to yell for help. As you get closer you stop and begin to explain the story. They see you all bloody and take your word for it. One cop radios for backup while the rest draw their guns and follow you down the dark alley towards the door. As you enter the room you jump to the floor because a hail of bullets from behind and in front of you launch themselves in both directions. By the time backup arrives a couple cops are injured and several of the bad guys are dead. Unfortunately the little man in the suit escaped. You gave your story to the cops and they took you in for questioning. After countless hours in the interogation room you're sent home. You fall asleep and wake up the next morning to start out another day.

It forced us to journey with you close to your side. Feeling and tasting every sensation. well done! ears/Seattle I usually write with a little more air but you really clung to us and it was a heck of an adventure!
