Movement in Winter's Key

By DIATRICUS

Cut to the quick
Quick to the cut
Candle's slick wick
Aglow the night shut

Stiff long Winter's harbor shine
Acute the trepid window view
Peddled remnants long refine
Aloft with memories anew

Kinder moments softly spent
Shore's boundary water with sand
Sullen thoughts that kindly went
Replaced amorously by your hand

Falling angels sing in vain
Wings from heaven's course
Rising demons echo plain
Springs of hell's remorse

Raven's curtly, cunning caw
Shatters through the dawn
Winter leaves upon the thaw
Knight takes rook, but falls to pawn
