Siren

By TheUltimateOutlaw

There was
A love made of
Sharp bits of glass and shell
Laced on ribbons and seaweed chains
This love was born of the
Seashore and the
Silt of
Past lives
Tumbled stones and
Invertebrate mussels
Mermaids heralded its birth with
Forgotten Spanish gold
And sea horses
Carried
Starfish
To its cradle
Bathed it in salt water
And chose to give a name, which
Sailors will call-- Siren.

Their ships will sink
For this.
