Fame or Love?
By Mithiras
Fame and fortune was all I wanted
To be rich and the status to be taunted
All the glory I would have stole from a friend
There would have been much laughter before the end
Though now I stray from that path
I no longer wish for that at last
After all you are the treasure of my heart
Whenever you come around, I hear the angels hark
My fortune is your beauty, your mind and personality
A treasure which I enjoy without any hipocracy
You are my famed one, my soul and my rainbow
But soon we will be two, and they'll declare us all hallow
I speak of this now not to inform
Not to brag, or to gloat, or to be pomp
But that you too do not need to mourn
And everyone can do what they want
No longer do I want fame or fortune
I am happier with you and your sweet voice
We'll sit on the shore and gaze over the moon
Our love, the sweet nector, it is my choice
I will eat of the apple, that forbidden sacred fruit
I will taste it if it means I can be with you now
Because deeply it grows, deep is our love, the deepest root
I will wander for you endlessly, and be with you, but how?
If I cross the mountains, the oceans, and drink the forbidden
What will happen to me? Will I be punished, be smitten?
Or will fame and revenge come to me as it did with Abel?
Will I become a myth, a hero or a legend who is unable?
It is an endless circle which I will end
By the most simple motion, a message without end
With a kiss from afar, it is the most true
All I want from this world, this earth ...
Is you ...
