Opusanguine Silence Slept
By DIATRICUS
Unto this serpent's wonder
Thrown voice falls asunder
Eclipsed, the time crept deviant
Faulty glimpse of cherished warrant
Total reverence shamed the will
Over barrels the gods' wine did spill
And to follow
And to wither
And to settle
And to grow
Spring to cleft, and then to stray
Obtuse the deft storm, death of day
Pity those of paultry view
Fortune blesses the poet's hue
Yours not to fulfill, but to question
Honor the values, none to mention
And to fight
And to climb
And to pause
And to fold
Calm the journey, brave the test
Solemn the moment, savored quest
Your decision
Your burden
Your jest
Have you walked in summer rain?
Ever embraced the warm disdain?
Your folly
Your delight
Your pain

Ok, though I'm not entirely sure why you would keep something that merely reminded you of your first intention rather than replace it but again great write :-)

Bravo. After this I will be sure to read more from you, nice title by the way. Great flow and rhyme, nice vocab and strung together well. One thing, did you misspell paultry on purpose? is this someones name?

"Paultry" was initially an unintended mis-spelling, but I retained it as it reminded me of 'poultry' -- if there is some hidden meaning that my sub-conscience is keyed into, I've yet to discern it overtly... thanks for the compliment
