five rings...

By DIATRICUS

Perseverence
alas were we not to tarry long
this peaceful time for starry song
and true to sudden strange delight
into your warm, tender, arms' embrace
such a quaint moment of reflection
yet shiver electric of where eves belong

Integrity
ours the short distance, still undefined
to note the eighteen bells in turn do chime
and false the pardoned thought be mourned
its glass walls so shear; so sheen
fondness meets not with pretense; nor its mistress
tales of laughter ward off dance sublime

Honesty
no regret in valiant efforts; in acts untold
to flee the flock; chastise comfort of the fold
solemn gestures repeat themselves unduly
repentant, joyous themes warm the halls
regression migrates toward a quiet den
you draw me in, effortlessly, from the cold

Dedication
heartbeats intertwined in passion's play
hearts beat rhythmically until coming of the day
a quizzical trip through another dark door
leading toward -- ah, but that's a mystery
severence is not the answer, nor its key
silver swims in ribbons through spinning clay

Reverence
primal chorus sings to winter's pale delight
reminiscent of another time; another night
still the wonder sets its finest tonic chord
bliss enters our hearts for time's reward
seven-fold bond fastened tightly -- we always were
calmly, sweetly, to take each other's side;

...swiftly, to take flight

The pattern reminds my of Tolkien's poetry.
